Been messing around with the logo I want to use for my new business.... any favorites or thoughts?

I'm obviously having a hard time making up my mind.

Yeah, it does.

I'm feeling indecisive, but my general feeling is I probably won't end up going with Staples- I'll see if we have time to go in tonight or tomorrow and talk to someone and show them my files.

Cool! I like them.

Hmm- I need double sided, unfortunately. I'm also contemplating going with rounded corners. I'm considering going with an online print place I found that'll do 200 double sided with rounded corners for 15.... not bad, though there's shipping too. I shall see.

Full Color matte or glossy, made while you wait(That's the big sell-point). That includes full-bleeds. They're not as thick as real cards, and I'm not sure if they can do double-sided.

That price is only this week though. Next week it goes back up to $29.99

Also if you want a full-bleed make sure to make the card .25" bigger than needed on each side so it can cut off and not mess it up or leave white.

I think I'm hesitant because I'm still on the fence about all my bright colors.

And thanks Derek, that's actually not a bad price. I'll have to look into it. Is that full color?

Well, it's been a busy week. I've been teaching myself Adobe After Effects, with much help from the video tutorials over at CreativeCOW. So, here's my Demo Reel, Ver. 3.0.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfMfOoDaexk

So far, I'm pleased. It's come a long way, and I'm hoping I'm nearly done with the tweaking. It's hard to let go and just be done with it! Lemme know what y'all think!

I've told you already that I think that while fast function, pelvicore, and the functional video series are your most recent work, they should probably serve as shorter fill in the middle. This is probably going to come as a punch, but without sound I had a pretty tough time telling what was going on in a geek tradegy, and it's not very high action most of the time. The last four are some of the more dynamic, so starting off with a few shots of what you feel is the best one of those may be the best way to draw in an audience.

That'd be shiny.

I'm still tinkering - trying to learn Adobe After Effects, so the interstitial graphics might be changing, even animating a little, as a result of re-arranging. So, if I did re-order them, what order would YOU guys put them in?

Current order is as follows (reverse chronological):
Fast Function
Pelvicore Fusion
Functional Video Digest Series
A Geek Tragedy
FanFilm
The Adventures of Pat Dynamite
"Return of the King" Music Video (which I'm thinking of pulling altogether)

I'll be handling most of the website though. You just need to get me content. We'll sort it. No worries.

BTW- some demo reel tips I have heard directly from folks already out working and interviewing in CA:

* Best demo reel length is 2-3 minutes. 5 is the absolute max.
* DO divide it up into sections with slates, as you've done.
* Chronological order doesn't matter in the least. They want to see your best work, not how you've improved.
* Put in your kick butt stuff and throw the rest out- especially at the beginning.

I found a whole packet of notes from my MS seminar class last night packing up my bookcase- has pages of how to get a job in the industry, if you're interested I may type them up and put them up here as a PDF reference.
