These are logos I recently did for Cameo, here on the forums, for his personal site and reel.

I'm rather liking them- any thoughts?

    They're all pretty cool.

I personally like the last one best

Thanks! Agreed, that's my fav too. I think it fits the "retro" feel best.

I like the last one as well, however the first one is pretty catchy too :).

Thanks! I'm okay with all of them, but it does seem like the last one's the favorite (including the person they were made for...)

Yep. I loved the third one. I rather liked the first one, too, but since my goal is to work in television, and that ties in with my retro feel... I thought it was shiny. You can see the logo in action in my demo reel - I tried to tie it all together with a retro menu/background...

Next step is to revamp my website. *whimper* It never ends!

I'll be handling most of the website though. You just need to get me content. We'll sort it. No worries.

BTW- some demo reel tips I have heard directly from folks already out working and interviewing in CA:

    * Best demo reel length is 2-3 minutes. 5 is the absolute max.
    * DO divide it up into sections with slates, as you've done.
    * Chronological order doesn't matter in the least. They want to see your best work, not how you've improved.
    * Put in your kick butt stuff and throw the rest out- especially at the beginning.

I found a whole packet of notes from my MS seminar class last night packing up my bookcase- has pages of how to get a job in the industry, if you're interested I may type them up and put them up here as a PDF reference.

    That'd be shiny.

I'm still tinkering - trying to learn Adobe After Effects, so the interstitial graphics might be changing, even animating a little, as a result of re-arranging. So, if I did re-order them, what order would YOU guys put them in?

Current order is as follows (reverse chronological):
    Fast Function
    Pelvicore Fusion
    Functional Video Digest Series
    A Geek Tragedy
    FanFilm
    The Adventures of Pat Dynamite
"Return of the King" Music Video (which I'm thinking of pulling altogether)
    SYN

You know, I have no idea. I don't really see that the order matters, but then again I'm not in the business.

I've told you already that I think that while fast function, pelvicore, and the functional video series are your most recent work, they should probably serve as shorter fill in the middle. This is probably going to come as a punch, but without sound I had a pretty tough time telling what was going on in a geek tradegy, and it's not very high action most of the time. The last four are some of the more dynamic, so starting off with a few shots of what you feel is the best one of those may be the best way to draw in an audience.

Well, it's been a busy week. I've been teaching myself Adobe After Effects, with much help from the video tutorials over at CreativeCOW. So, here's my Demo Reel, Ver. 3.0.

So far, I'm pleased. It's come a long way, and I'm hoping I'm nearly done with the tweaking. It's hard to let go and just be done with it! Lemme know what y'all think!
